Maroon blindstamp decorated cloth, brown endpapers. 150 pages. Minimal marks, Bangor Theological Seminary Library; printed library bookplate of Roswell Dwitht Hitchcock inside front cover; above that is a paper label inscribed by hand in ink "Roswell D. Hitchcock, L. L. D. /New York/with compliments/of the author/A[pril 25th, 1877." Bangor Seminary Library stamp on a corner of that label. Hitchcock had been a distinguished professor at Bangor. In 1877 he was President of Union theological Seminary in New York. Much of his personal library was given to Bangor Theological Seminary after his death. The cloth spine cover is pulled away; the title page is pulling free; otherwise unmarked, clean, sound copy ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall
